Making use of your god given talents

We are all blessed to be able to do certain things that most would assume we are incapable of. I come from a long line of merchants, artists and artisans. We have all had business like minds and we use those to get us further in life. My late paternal grandfather used to make toy blocks for us to play with when we were younger. He used to measure them and cut them fresh whenever we used to go down to see him for a holiday.

My mother and both my grandmothers are and were great at needlework and my now late grandmother was a talented seamstress and dressmaker who made so many beautiful wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses and matric(prom) ball gowns. She even made my ball gown which still fits me fifteen years later. The same grandmother used to also make a lot of her own clothes.

My mom is also great at fixing all your worn out books and restoring them to glory.

I also love working with my hands and doing my beautiful bead-work, the pieces that have been made by me and bought from me still get worn with so many different and beautiful outfits. I get such a lump in my throat from sheer pride as to how much my work is appreciated and to know that all the hours that I put in to making them was so well worth it.

So I will say to you that if you know that you are capable of something really special and unique and it can take you to so many places, then make it known to the rest of the world. It will be the best decision you ever made.

Believe it or not, and I have mentioned this so many times and it is only because I am so grateful that I was convinced to undertake this journey, my mother got me into doing what I do now and to this day I still struggle to find the words to say thank you to her for planting that seed in my head.

This post is another one that I dedicate to her and really and truly do appreciate everything she has supported me through. She is my rock, my mentor and my best friend. How many people can really say that their mother got them through the best and worst of times in their lives

My mother is one of those mothers. She saw the talent that I possess and constantly encouraged me to pursue my dreams and to see it through no matter what. This was the one that stuck.

I really admit that I am truly blessed for all the God given talent that I have. This is a brag but it is a humble brag because way back when, i would never have seen myself doing this without her encouragement and support through it all.

What I do now helps me to deal with what held me back and because of that, I have overcome so much in my life. So this an encouragement to all of you out there, if I can do it then so can you.

Embrace your talents. Let me shine through.
