Loving yourself as you are

This is a subject that bugs me in today's world. Why are we trying to look like the models in the magazines and on the runways. We are all unique and beautiful in our own way. We all have flaws and imperfections, none of us are truly perfect. All those photos are edited to hide the imperfections and flaws to make them look that way.
Society has created this unrealistic concept of what beauty should be and it grinds my gears when girls and young women from all walks of life are actually starving themselves so that they can look like that too. It is frightening. I don't even have perfect skin, hair or looks for that matter. I have scars that are all over my body from some sort of injury that I have sustained at some point in my life.
People need to understand that we are all unique and beautiful in our own way and we need to embrace that and love ourselves from within. I see so many girls and young women doing crazy things just so that they can look like an edited photo. It is actually disappointing and people believe this.
Why are we hiding ourselves from the world behind filters and funny faces instead of just being real and authentic. People will accept you more if you are true to yourself and who you are in your heart of hearts. This is what my brand stands for. Being custom made and showcasing who you are no matter what and not caring what others think.
What has become of this world where we feel like we need to live a lie in order for people to like us instead of just being ourselves and showing that to the world. Don't get me wrong I am all for wearing makeup and looking beautiful and accentuating already gorgeous features but don't use that as an excuse to have that perfect photo. I can sometimes go and entire weekend and not put on a stitch of makeup.
I was also made to feel self-conscious of how I looked and dressed and at the time I was starting to figure out who I am on the inside and then one day just decided that I was going to be myself and see where the world took me. So far I have learned so much about myself and embraced my natural beauty and it has made the world of difference to my health on all levels, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
I am so much stronger than I have ever been in my life and I have learned to just take each day as it comes. In reality we only have one life and we need to live that life every single day and make the most of the time we have because we don't know when our time on earth will end. Live your life to the fullest and love yourself just as you are. Your mind and body will thank you for it in the long run.
