Lockdown in South Africa

Well, I have to admit that the last two and a half weeks since my last post have been rather interesting. It all seemed to be looking quite promising and then we discovered that we would have to be locked in our homes for 21 days. That took effect here on 27 March 2020 and will only be lifted on 17 April, so roughly 12 more days to go. Now bear in mind that most people initially treated this as a time to have a fat party when this came into effect and the police have pulled no punches, although they could be a bit more present that they have been.

So, I am writing this to bring you all up to speed on what has been happening in the last few weeks. Now just before all this drama took place, it was my birthday and my friends and I decided let's have one last celebration just to make things a bit more bearable and merry. I have to admit that it was so nice to feel so special in a time when we are all in a tailspin all around the world.

Here is a peak as to how my birthday party went

These pics were all taken in the park across the road from me where I normally go for my walks and runs on a Saturday morning, unfortunately, due to lockdown, this got closed off the next day and access has been forbidden since lockdown took effect. Luckily we managed to do this and have a little party while we still could.

I have to admit, despite the tense situation with #coronavirus, we had a right jolly time that morning. It is a morning I will never forget. I miss this bunch like crazy but I know that I will see them again soon

The advantage for me is that I have still been able to operate business wise as I operate fully online and then either send orders to my clients or they can place their orders and I will be setting them aside to collect once the lockdown has been lifted. It makes things so much easier so they don't have to get in a flat spin that they will lose their goods. I am way too efficient and organized to allow that to happen.

I think I am going to be seeing quite a large upsurge in site traffic during this time. I set this all up last year and I am glad I did it then and knew that I would be operational should there be trouble in the country. Lo and behold, what has happened, exactly that. I never expected it would be as a result of a health crisis around the world but I knew that I had to get online so that I could keep on going.

So now, what I have been doing is, alongside #ootd, I have incorporated "star of the day" which directly highlights which piece I am going to be showing each day, so this is how I do it.

So this is standard #ootd that you all know quite well by now

Then, this is how I put out "star of the day" it is basically a close up of the piece I am wearing that day with the #ootd so that you can see that each piece can be paired with basically any outfit at any time. That is the upside to the product that I create, it can match up with anything at all.

This is just today's one as an example by the way.

This is pretty much what I have been doing this entire time in order to maintain exposure to the online market and to let people know that I am still operational and always have been.

This is not to say that I am not scared and pleading ignorance as to what is going on in the world, I just continue with my daily activities in order to maintain a routine of some kind that is familiar to me. Yes, I have had to make a few sacrifices with regards to exercise but I still do my strength training at home. I do keep track but I don't let it dictate what I have control over. This will pass in time and we will get back to our lives one way or another but just know that it is possible to keep going during trying times.

I hope that you are all keeping safe and staying indoors like you are supposed to be. I will be keeping in touch to show you more during this time as I have managed to catch up a few things that I put off until now.

So, until tomorrow, see y'all then
