Incorporating my personal brand with business

Something needs to be understood about my approach to business. I am who I am and I show that to all that I deal with in my business and in life in general. I hold absolutely nothing back. It is one thing that I refuse to do. I have this way of doing things and dealing with anything that comes into my life. I also have a very unique perspective about life that many people simply find highly intimidating. I live in the real world and it scares the living daylights out of alot of people.

I am the type of person that will show you one thing me and me only, what you see is what you get. Everything about me is showcased in this photo to start. I will admit that I do not perfectly match up my make up to suit the style of clothes that I wear. I am a very bold and eccentric person, real and true to myself and to the world. That is the person you will always see with me:

If you are the weird and unusual type of person, then show it, just like I do. I would rather let people see me as I am, standing out from the crowd rather than trying to fit in and follow the pack. I have never been like that.

So, you all know that I run. The general assumption is that I do it to lose weight, I don't, I do it to keep fit. Now, not every morning is sunshine and clear skies, it is sometimes also very cloudy, like it was this morning:

I have a very casual but bold and eccentric style. I dress for comfort, not to impress. Be impressed by what I show to the world in my own unique way. Those that know me know that i have grown alot into the person that I am today and I will always show who I really am.

I admit that I very seldom if ever feel the cold, it just doesn't bother me. Like now, its just started raining and I am sitting in the kitchen at the table, with no jersey on. Just the clothes I put on this morning. Most people respond to a change in the weather by doing exactly that. It is rain, it is not going to cause you any harm. It is a natural process that takes place.

This is just how I am and I am okay with that. I am okay with being able to tolerate changes in the weather without being afraid of it. It is natural and will pass. I am also okay with people looking at me in a strange way because they don't understand or know me. I do things like that because it works for me. I have been looked at in strange ways all my life and now that I know more about myself having grown in to that person, it doesn't get to me at all. Not one bit.

This is why I do things the way I do and incorporate who I am as a person and build my personal brand and showcase this in order to make myself known for being me and being real than living a lie. I am incapable of dishonesty and treachery, I hate people who are like that with an absolute passion.

My personal brand is about accepting myself and letting others see that person. I have so many friends that are capable of so much more and yet they hold themselves back. It is just sad to be honest.

Today's look was fairly easy to put together because I have done so much experimentation with everything in my cupboard that it just flows nowadays

Most people will notice that my style does not consist of much in the way of heels. I will acknowledge that I can only wear certain types of heels and not all styles. I prefer a wedge heel as it is more versatile. I do have a few pairs, my wardrobe is not just flip flops and sneakers.

The heels generally come out on more formal occasions than everyday wear. Habit, I suppose. I tend to attend very few formal events. I am more a person that will sit around the braai and pool for a nice relaxing day that way.

This shows in how I deal with people. I will interact with you in an environment in which you are comfortable and be direct with you. Many clients have come to my house, which I use as a collection point for orders and to discuss repair jobs. It is what my brand stands for. Being comfortable and making others around you comfortable as well so that they remember you for being real and authentic.

When it comes to personal branding and business, people will remember the person and the message they want to get across. When that message and who the person is and so on is noticed. That is what people remember, it is etched in their minds. This person, knows what to do and can get it done. Never mind fancy suits and stuffy boardrooms. Let them come to you or make an arrangement to meet them. Like I did with one of my LinkedIn connections, Candice Hess the same person that got me to sign up on the platform in the first place, she works for one of the local radio stations and deals with business marketing and branding through media and social media, because that is how I have gotten a lot of groundwork done, by sharing my knowledge and insight about business and the world around me in general. It got me very well noticed.

So that is my take on the subject and why I do things this way. It works for me to be this way.
