Creativity to treat mental health

The subject for today was sparked by a response in one of my social networks in which people came together in support of mental health and I think that is really a great response. Mental health is something that many struggle with on a daily basis and majority of cases go untreated. This is because so many are embarrassed and ashamed to acknowledge that they are suffering from mental health issues and refuse to seek treatment for fear of being judged by their peers and friends and family members.

There is such a stigma around the subject of mental health awareness and I am one of those people that wants to break the cycle and smash the stigma around mental health. Those of you that know me well enough know that I have been suffering from mental health issues for most of my life, I am not ashamed to admit it and I will voice my opinion on the matter and do whatever it takes to reach as many people as possible to get the message out that it is okay to be in the state you are in. It is okay to not be okay.

Now, the reason that I bring creativity into the mix is because it is a great way to stimulate your mind in a positive way and to keep your mind occupied in a positive way, this is what has helped me so much to treat my own issues and has allowed me to live medication free and cope with where my mind is at and to keep it in a positive state.

What many don't know is that some of the most creative people that have lived through the ages have suffered from mental health issues. There are many to name so I will not go into it but there are thousands and thousands of well known people. Their creativity has given them a chance to cope with this and to become some of the most famous people in history.

This is why I can create my jewellery in the way that I do because it really makes your brain work and allows you to concentrate for long periods and to perfect what you are working on. It allows for the most unique things to be created in this world. Making my jewellery is what helps me curb my anxiety and keep my depression at bay.

I could go on and on about this but for now, let's get on with the usual story with today's #ootd

And onto today's little sparkler, and she is a shiny one

Put together you get this awesome look

The upside to this beautiful Sunday is that the weather played ball whereas in previous years, it was generally a pain and hard to tell if what you needed to do that day would have to be put on hold because the weather got in the way. today wasn't the case.

Ok, so back to what I was saying. Using creative ways to treat mental health conditions allows for the stimulation of your right side of your brain. Something that many people are scared to use because they are afraid of being judged and degraded so many people don't use it alot and they honestly should because by using both sides of your brain allows for you to find interesting ways of improving the conditions in which you live on a daily basis.

There is nothing wrong with being creative and different and wanting to stand out from the crowd. The ones that do use their creativity on a daily basis are the ones that inspire us all to give it a try and just be different and unique instead of following everyone and adding our names to the rat race that is daily life in which everyone copy's each other. Why would you do that to yourself.

I have had the greatest and most peaceful life using my creativity to treat my issues. It has been my saving grace. It can be yours too. It has allowed me to live a productive life too. I have done more in my life in the last almost ten years than at any other point in my life. This is all thanks to my rock, my mentor, my best friend, my guiding light, my mommy. She was the one that put it forward to me and has been my pillar of strength when I am going through a rough patch.

There is this weird notion that your mom cannot be your best friend, that is the biggest load of crap that I have ever heard in my life. My mom and I have the greatest relationship on earth, both my brother and myself. We both actually find it easier to turn to her than to our dad. I do love my dad, don't get me wrong, I just find that a mother listens to more and pays a bit more attention to the situation.

So with that being said, I will see y'all soon.

Happy Sunday and have a great week

All very true. I do the same things and remind myself that I'm okay and I got through it.

Nice jewellery contrasting the top.

Mental health means minds health means unusual thought— which isn’t a big problem if you just self heal the thoughts. Thoughts are unable to stop but good news is, they can be diverted to positive. For example if I get painful thought from the past, I will self talk it out by saying “ hey if that pain did not happen, I wouldn’t be what I am right now, doing right things in life”❤️
