Celebrating everlasting love

Today is a very special day in my family for a very special couple. I am talking about my wonderful, loving parents. Right from the beginning when they met they decided that they would make their relationship work no matter what.

They sure have done that. 38 years ago today. they took vows to spend the rest of their lives together. They have been through so many ups and downs and have always managed to get through it one way or another.

As you can see my mom is not one for the traditional white. So she went for the peach colour and she looked so beautiful in that dress. They are a true inspiration of everlasting love.They make me believe in what is possible every single day of my life.

I really admire them for sticking it out out no matter what. They truly have honoured their vows of for better for worse, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, till death do us part and I can guarantee you that this will happen with them. They have been together for forty years, married for 38.

They are my heroes.

Their determination to make things work makes me work hard on myself to be the best possible version of myself, they have never given up on each other, not for one second of the years they have been together.

As a result. I do things the way I do them because of that love that they have for each other and for me and my brother. I love them so much. My never say die attitude comes from their love and loyalty to each other and the devotion they share for everything and everyone in their lives.

This is the face of a woman who was raised by two people that never gave up on her in her almost 34 years on this earth and that love and devotion to raise healthy happy children have shaped me into the person that I am today. My parents' devotion to everything they do is the kind of devotion that exists by a single decision that come hell or high water, this relationship will work. There will be no secrets and if a problem arises, we will stick together and we will find a way to resolve every obstacle that is put in our way. They have done exactly that, they have stuck together, through thick and thin, good and bad, right and wrong. They have supported both my brother and myself through every single obstacle that we have faced and because we both know that we can tell them anything at all. It gives us the confidence and the strength to pursue our own dreams and build lives that we can be proud of. We can build relationships and friendships that will last a lifetime. I have quite a few friendships like that and so does my brother.

I could go on and on about how much they have taught me about what true love is. They are a prime example in this world and I am so proud of them for having had their marriage last for as long as it has. Every year, the joke goes around about who would get the medal this time around but in all honesty, they both deserve a medal for making their marriage work no matter what.

Happy anniversary mom and dad (Rosemary and Russel Sellick), I love you both so much and am so proud to be the daughter of such an amazing couple and I know Peter is too.
